Your Way, My Way

Have you ever felt trapped in a bad situation or relationship? Seems like you don't have any way to get someone to understand you or even consider a different course of action? Every thing you try just doesn't make a difference and you feel like you are talking to a wall ? There are many reasons this happens, but for now I want to invite you to do something different to get a different response. Alan Kay said "The best way to predict the future is to invent it."
You have opportunity to make the future of your conversations look different and have more productive outcomes. You must be willing to make a small adjustment in your tone of voice, choice of words, or to ask questions to get a different response from them. Suggest to the person you are communicating with you want to come to some end result that is acceptable to both of you. Get out of the "your way, my way" of getting to a conclusion. Think for a few minutes about what you want to accomplish and look at options. This takes practice and actually there is some relief in getting out of the business of "your way, my way" solutions.
Let me know if you have any questions....
